Timmins is a northern Ontario gold mining town on the Highway 101 corridor. Gold mining anchors the local economy, and the Highway 101 position ties the city to the movement of goods across the region. Mining keeps trucks hauling equipment and supplies in and out on a steady basis, and the corridor connects Timmins to the wider northern Ontario road network. That combination of gold mining and a corridor position is what shapes the local fuel market, anchoring it to the resource economy of the north.
